You heard it here folks, my new single, Mountain Honey is available to pre-save on Spotify and pre-order on iTunes - out everywhere August 11th… it sure is sweet. Some would say sweeter than mountain honey….
I haven’t released a collection of songs since 2018 when I released my “The Heart of a Songwriter” EP. That was my first purely Nashville record produced by my wonderful friend, and extremely talented producer, Keith Harris. I also funded that EP all on my own. Since then, I’ve released a single titled “FAKE” back in 2022, also produced by Keith here in Nashville. Again, self funded.
I mention being self funded not to brag but to explain how much goes into making these projects and why it means so much to me when people love, share, and support them. That’s why it’s taken me 5 years to get to the point financially I could release new music. It’s expensive out here y’all haha. It’s hard loving music because every piece of extra income goes towards this dream. While most of my friends were saving for trips (Italy, I promise I’m coming for you one day!) or blowing their money on fun weekend activities, I was singing, singing, singing, and occasionally cleaning the gym bathrooms at my day job, to earn enough money to do this. It was a labor of love. I’m really proud of myself for scrapping and saving so I could bring these songs to life that I’ve been singing for years at my shows.
There are so many songs written in my catalog at this point it’s like choosing a favorite child to shed a spotlight on. That being said, I finally saved up enough and Keith was kind enough to help work within my budget. We have a new 6 song EP coming in 2024 guys!
We headed into a studio here in Nashville called The Planetarium (Thanks Thomas Dulin!) early December 2022. It was the first time since I was 16 that I was in the studio with the musicians playing on my songs. Talk about amazing! The guys were so kind and really brought my songs to life. It’s such a joy to work with people who show up excited and ready to create something. I owe so much of this vibey EP to these guys: Cory Williams, Richard Brinsfield, Kris Donegan, and Keith Harris. Keith and I also worked on two additional songs in his studio. We added a few other musicians who played on a few tracks - Kristin Weber, Steve Brewster, and Gideon Boley. They added the final touch to the last two songs and I can’t stop smiling!

I think there’s a song for everyone on this record no matter what stage of life you’re in. The labor of love was totally worth it and I would save a thousand times more, sing as many small shows as I could, and scrub as many gym bathrooms as I needed to for this. It’s a beautiful thing to fight for your dream. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it.
